The 'John Farley Memorial Fund' was set up after the passing away of John Farley, who wanted to give disadvantaged young people the chance to experience flight, and also a chosen few the chance to gain their Private Pilots Licence.
The first aim of the Fund is to financially support a chosen disadvantaged young person to gain their Private Pilots Licence. This will be done via a thorough check to determine that the individual concerned would not be able to do this without our financial help, and the experience would benefit the person's future life for the better.
The second aim of the Fund is to give disadvantaged and terminally ill young people an experience of what it is like to fly. We will be working alongside well known organisations to do this, and most of the flights will be using our own aircraft. This part of the Fund goes under the name of the 'Dragonfly Squadron'.
